Boracay is a small island 2x7 K's.. If you stay there for a longer period make shure there will be wind in the period you booked. I was there in dec 2007 and jan 2008, the first month we had good winds. It's a great spot to practice new moves. There's a bay with flat water and beyond the reef there are some waves.
The second month I was there there was no wind... and it drove me totally insane!
Because the island is so small, you know everything and everybody after one week..
All and all we had a good time on Boracay.

Hi guys,
I've now been kiting in Boracay for a while and it's definitely a great spot.
Is has it all... good wind during 6 months (beginning of november til end of april), unique vibe and great nightlife!
Wind is side-onshore 95% of the time and constant. The water is flat during low-tide then a bit choppy during high-tide.
During high season the lagoon gets crowded so it's hard to pass the first hundred meters as there are all the beginners and students but passed this line, you have plenty of space to enjoy. The lagoon is 2 square km of shallow water (waist to chest deep).
Ideal to learn or improve tricks.

The level on the water can be really high with lots of locals and instructors doing any kind of handle-pass. But it's still very good for beginners of course and people like to watch them do the craziest tricks.

The vibe is what makes Boracay such a special place. The island is amazingly beautiful with its white beach often ranked in the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world and the Filipinos being such nice people.
In terms of accommodation and food, you can find anything at any price but you'd better book well in advance if you are planning to come during Xmas, NY, chinese NY or Holy week.

It's all a journey to reach the island but it's well worth the effort!
See you on thge water ;-)

Been there in feb 2013...if you like mass tourism and an overcrowded spot, be my guest! Over 2013 they had 1.5 million visistors and in 2015 they hope to welcome 3 million tourist!  Need I say more?  Let's not mention the suage that washes on the beach. It's really very expensive in comparisson to the rest of the Philippines, often times 10. Two things are true: it's ok for beginners and it's the ideal place to miss out on a good kitesurf session elsewhere because you were still seriously bent from the party the night before. The wind is pretty light if you compare it with many other places in the country.  The Philippines has so much more to offer!!! Deserted bounty island flat water spots with "white sandy beaches" or even big wave spots just waiting for you to discover them! But like they say: you haven't been in the Philippines if you haven't visited Boracay. I just wish I didn't...
