General Info:
The location and the Village

The Dominican Republic is a nation on the island of Hispaniola, part of the Greater Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean region. The western third of the island is occupied by the nation of Haiti, making Hispaniola one of two Caribbean islands that are occupied by two countries. Both by area and population, the Dominican Republic is the second largest Caribbean nation (after Cuba), with 48,442 km² and an estimated 10 million people.

Cabarete is a town in the Puerto Plata province of the Dominican Republic, noted for its tourism and beaches. Cabarete Bay has been the location of professional kitesurfing competitions (e.g. "WorldCup/Copa Mundial", "Master of the Ocean"), and nearby Playa Encuentro (3 miles to the west) is among the most popular surfing beaches in the Caribbean. Cabarete is located on Camino Cinco approximately 11 miles (17.7 kilometers) from the airport of Puerto Plata (POP). Cabarete is a good holiday destination for non-kiting partners and family.
